I’m sitting behind my desk, in front of my computer staring out the side window. Outside the sky is clear, the leaves change rapidly. I’ve come to the conclusion that fall is here–winter will arrive soon. The nights continue to get colder, while the days still have the average temperatures. The way the weather changes is, well–the same as how we change.
It seems as the seasons change, I find myself changing. Time to cozy in and settle down to write. New ideas arrive daily making it difficult to decide where to begin. The coziness of my room, creates an environment for my muse to develop. I know where to begin or should I say . . . continue. Sam is a huge part of my day now. She guides my thoughts and helps put them into action on the page.
A book I purchased, “Novelist’s Boot Camp” offers ways to take my book from boring to bestseller; a dream of mine. I flip through the colorful pages to read how he as a former professor at the US Military Academy, draws on his experience as a novelist, writing instructor, and officer to offer me help in getting my writing in tip-top shape.
“I’ve reported for duty, sir,” is what I’d tell him. I’m ready to accept the mission…
Mission–to finish my children’s book and have it ready for submission by January 1st, 2010.
So, what am I waiting for,
As I always say,
