She’s my Macaw. She’s the one bird I have that when I stick my hand in the cage, she immediately steps up. She loves to snuggle under my chin and hide under things to play peek-a-book. Maggie was purchased at a local pet store. I frequently visit to see who they’ve added.
The day I arrived I found her sitting with her nose pressed against the glass, looking at me as if to say, “Please take me home.” I asked the sales associate if I could hold her. She immediately came to me. Sat up on my shoulder and gave me a kiss on my cheek. I asked the lady how much she was, and once I got over the initial shock, I told her I’d take her.
So, out the store I went with my new baby and all her supplies.
She’s one of a kind. Macaws are typically very nice birds, big – but nice. She intimidates many people because of her size. But she loves all people. She talks alot. Seems to be more of a closet talker. When I step out of the room, her words flow. I think she gets embarrased when people are around to say many things.
Of all my birds, she’s my favorite. One I’d never part with.
